CT 6001S

CT6001S HIGH VOLTAGE CYANOGEN TEST SYSTEM

CT 6001 Cyanogen Plasma Glow System provides a means of measurement of gaseous content and coating density in most types of incandescent lamps in the laboratory and on-line quality control conditions.

Operation of the CT 6001 is based on the latest achievements in microprocessor, power conversion and radio frequency (RF) electronics. The combination of well proven classical RF with the power of modern data processing and calculation created this unique-in-its-class instrument.

Its simplicity, friendly menu, use of popular computer spread sheet software and high reliability of presented data makes this "one of a kind" system available.

CT 6001A Cyanogen Afterglow System

CT 6001A Cyanogen Afterglow System is responsible for Plasma Decay measurements from moment of excitation to final decision for the lamp under test.

The CT 6001 bases the good/bad lamp decision on two Reject Algorithms:

  • integration of the signal from the photomultiplier during the plasma decay and,
  • time measurements of plasma decay.

The Decay Integration Method will sample the signal level from the photomultiplier when the excitation is shut off to the "end" of decay with a 560 ·s sampling rate and by adding all of them in graphical integration. The good/bad lamp decision is based on decay area. If the decay area exceeds the preset value, the lamp will be judged good.

The Time Method will sample the signal level from the photomultiplier when the excitation is shut off and then measure the time for the photomultiplier signal level to decay to a preset level, representing a percentage of the initial sample. If the decay period exceeds a preset time, the lamp will be judged good.

The CT 6001 has capability to upload data to a PC compatible computer to graphically display the plasma excitation and decay characteristics.

The two parameters that affect the reliable readings of Plasma Afterglow Decay are the energy from the power oscillator AG 0201 HV-OS and the outputs from Photo Multiplier CT 6002. The Front Panel of CT 6001 provides the controls to manually adjust High RF Voltage from AG0201 HV-OS oscillator and High DC Voltage from internal Power Supply to the Photo Multiplier Assembly. The intent was to use this as a setup tool. This feature could be used as a production analysis tool when setting for Quality Control. It could be also used as laboratory instrument to evaluate new products or concepts.

To be used as a production analysis tool, a button is provided that will initiate an upload of the data to the laptop computer for the last lamp tested. While this occurs, the CT 6001 will continue to function in the OPERATING MODE inspecting and rejecting lamps on the production line.

To be used as product evaluation instrument in the laboratory conditions, it must be set to TEST MODE in which an upload of the data to the computer take place at every request for measurement.

The CT 6001 has an AC (DC optional) solid state relay to provide the reject signal, that is capable of driving either AC or DC devices.

The CT 6001A is designed for bench or on-line operation. The controller is set for operation with a single phase, 47 - 63 Hz AC Line of 90 to 132 VAC or from 180 to 264VAC. The internal power supplies switch automatically to the line voltage applied to the unit. Unit does not require any special internal adjustments if operated within the specified voltage range.

CT 6001A Cyanogen Afterglow System Controller consists of 6 major functional blocks:

  1. Analog and interface Board Assembly. It is responsible for interfacing the High Voltage RF Oscillator, Photo Multiplier, High Voltage DC Power Supply with microprocessor board.
  2. Microprocessor Board Assembly. It is the core of the controller and responsible for all functions of the system.
  3. Front Panel Control and LCD Display provides method of Human Interface. It accesses the setting of parameters and reads back the test results.
  4. AC to DC House Keeping Power Supply provides all the necessary electrical energy for the Controller to operate.
  5. AC to DC Controllable Power Supply provides high DC voltage for photo multiplier. Its output is set to a default of ~500 VDC and is changed from 350 to 750 VDC during the test in automatic mode of operation.
  6. Bottom Interface Panel provides all necessary connections within the System:
    1. AC Power In. IEC type connector for universal 90 to 240 VAC, 47 to 63 Hz.
    2. CT 6001A controller to AG 0201 HV-OS oscillator.
    3. High Voltage DC output to photo multiplier.
    4. Photo multiplier output to analog interface.
    5. Switch In — test request signal to the controller.
